1. CARS: Minimum wheelbase; (4) Door Cars: Minimum 108" (2) Door Cars: Minimum 110".
Chevrolet cars & Motors are OK. All Chevy motor powered cars must weigh no less than 4200lbs. Non-Chevy motor powered cars must weigh no less than 3800lbs. Left side driver controls steering and brake. Right side driver controls the throttle. Throttle to be on the far right side of drivers compartment. No hand throttles.
2. Fiberglass or aluminum seats OK. Must pass safety inspection.
3. Safety: Four point roll cage is mandatory. Roll bars can not go through rear firewall. Front firewall optional. Both drives must have helmet, M rated or SA rated, and SFI rated 2000 or newer racing safety belts and shoulder harness over each shoulder. Remove all glass. Doors must be securely fastened. Door brace OK, must be inside of car. Driver and gas person must wear firesuit, long sleeve shirt or jacket. Driver and Gas person must wear gloves and must wear neck collars. All bars around driver and gas person's head must have roll bar padding.
4. Seat Belts And Shoulder Harness: A lever-type quick release latch must be fastened to the lap belt. A lap belt not less than three (3) inches wide is mandatory. Both ends of the lap belt must be fastened to the roll bar cage with high quality bolts not less than 3/8 inch in diameter. The shoulder harness must be no less than three (3) inches wide and must be attached to a roll bar behind the driver's seat. Where the harness crosses the roll cage, it must pass through a steel guide welded to the roll cage that will prevent the harness from sliding side to side. Shoulder harness inertia reels will not be permitted. A center (crotch) belt must be securely mounted to the lower seat frame at the bottom and to the lap seat belt on the top. Where the belts pass through the seat edges, it must have a grommet installed, be rolled, and/or padded to prevent cutting of the belt. All seat belts and shoulder harnesses must connect at the lap belt with a quick-release buckle. Seat belts should not be used beyond five (5) years. The date of manufacture should remain visible at all times. All cars should have either an approved window net or arm restraints.
5. No Modifications To Body, Suspension or Engine: Leading cylinder must be in front off ball joint. Radiator type optional. Radiator reinforcement OK. No headers. No aluminum heads or intakes. No aftermarket ignition; Must be OEM, including internal coils & components. No double pumper carbs; Any single accelerator pump carb; Vacuum secondary OK. No lowering blocks are allowed. No bumper reinforcement. Must cut 2 holes in hood for safety. One chain only on hood and bumper. No hood pins. Battery location optional, must be covered and pass safety inspection.
6. Steering: Must remain stock.
7. Tires: No cross grooving of tires. No all-terrain tires. No race tires. All 4 wheels must be same size.
Max. tire size: 245/60x15. Any used IMCA tire is OK.8. Wheels: Must be street legal. Recommend 1/2" studs with heavy lug nuts. Must have all lug nuts on all wheels. No offset racing type wheels and no spacers. (8") wheel maximum.
9. Rearends: Stock. Locking OK. No floater rearends
10. Cars must have numbers on both sides and top of car. Must be at least 14" in height. Must be legible. (3) digit or (2) digit and (1) letter. If numbers are not legible from grandstand, you will not be scored in the race.
11. No aftermarket suspension parts allowed.
12. Gas Tanks: Must be in trunk area only. Recommend 8 gal. fuel cell. Must pass safety inspection.
13. No racing shocks (any type, any brand) or springs allowed. This will be closely inspected. Anyone caught will be suspended from all Cruiser events at 81 Speedway for the season and lose all money, trophies and points earned for the night. Shocks and springs MUST remain in stock location. One (1) shock per wheel (in stock location).
14. A protective screen and bars must be placed in front of driver and gas man. NO rebar allowed. Minimum 3 bars. Recommended 5 bars.
15. At the discretion of the flagman, any car jumping positions on the starts and/or restarts will be moved to the rear of the field, penalized positions, and/or black flagged.
16. Any competing car whose speed has been reduced to a point where it causes a safety problem or retards the track activity may be removed from the racing surface by the black flag at the option of the officials.
17. Any car with a flat tire while racing will be black flagged and sent to the infield.
